Children’s and preventive dental care
Children’s and preventive dental care starts with the first baby tooth, it is recommended to visit your dentist by the time when the baby is twelwe months old, which is the right time for the parents to educate themselves about oral care of their children.
The most common dental disease among children is dental caries, that is a result of bad habits, nutrition rich with sugar, inadequate oral hygiene that is somewhat made more difficult etc.
Caries of baby teeth should be treated in order to prevent expanding the caries area to the rooth and pulp (nerve). Not treated baby teeth in due course can be the source of future inflammation of adult teeth that are located in the bone area beneath the baby teeth. The first adult tooth that sprouts around the year od six is called a molar and it mostly sprouts firstly in the lower jaw. Preventive measures that are taken in these cases are dental sealants. This lessens the chances of caries development in the caries predilected areas and makes it possible for us to extend the time during which the teeth remain intact.
